Everytime he messages me ... it is something suggestive. There is no 'good morning' or 'how is your day' ... and I never respond to sexual remarks. I usually talk aboit something else.
I hate men like that. Talk to me damn it! Make me laugh! Ask me about my day! Occasional flirty remarks are tasteful ... don't be a perv.
It is people like you who ruin things. That is why I maintain my distance with most men. Im afraid everyone is going to be perv.
Anyway ... a shoutout to all my guy friends on VR. Thank you for being gentlemen. Muaks!

So to be clear, the tradition is for the "Department" to contribute or 'reimburse more senior staff "financially" for a gift or present (there is a difference between the two) that is given to the "boss" for Christmas (whether they celebrate it or not or is in the mood or not) even if that member has proven to be not so good of an employee, but who has found those that support her and sees things her way and who feels due to "their" perception that they have been poorly treated by the boss.....Well, hell, I wouldn't contribute either. Not everyone has the type of heart to be nice to those who are not nice to them regardless if others see it as it is their fault.
If I had a child that misbehaved in class and was disciplined by the teacher, but felt their behavior was not inappropriate and should not have been disciplined and some of their friends agreed and then the popular, well-liked students who the teacher seems to favor got together and purchased a gift/present for the teacher as has been done in the past and asked for "all" the kids to contribute and my child refused, well I'd understand my child's position and would support my child's position including not being involved in any parties because it would seem that those that are liked by the teacher are only kissing up to the teacher to remain in the teacher's grace whether that's true or not.
Everyone's "Perception" is "THEIR" "Reality". It's what they see or feel regardless of what others see or how others feel.
People have the human right to be angry and petty. It's Human Nature after all.
If these individuals seem toxic to the Department, why aren't you happy that they won't be around to bring the dinner party down and just accept the fact they have no love for the boss so why should they be expected to contribute towards something nice for the boss? This shouldn't ruin Christmas for everyone just because THEY are not in the same spirit as everyone. Those that are happy should remain happy and not allow the actions of a few to take that joy away.
If those employees are so toxic to the Department, why are they still there?

We are not going to let them ruin the gathering. Infact we made a reservation at a great hotel for dinner.
I am not saying not wanting to contribute is wrong but I don't like the way the play victim.
This is corporate environment and we are all adults. These girls lack the responsibility.
It is not like I love my boss anyway, I also have my up and down moments with her, but it is only regarding work. I don't hold a personal grudge against her. Anyway these girls' so called 'treated poorly' refers to the boss asking 'why haven't you finished your work yet'.
